Travis Wilson, Chair of the Missouri Passenger Rail Caucus, Championing Connectivity and Economic Growth Across MissouriState Representative Travis Wilson (R-St. Charles), representing District 106 in the Missouri House of Representatives, serves as the Chair of the Missouri Passenger Rail Caucus. With a background rooted in economic development and community service, Rep. Wilson brings a business-focused perspective to expanding passenger rail infrastructure and regional transit connectivity throughout Missouri.

Leading the Missouri Passenger Rail CaucusAs Chair of the Missouri Passenger Rail Caucus, Rep. Wilson has been actively organizing lawmakers in the House and assisting state senators in building a bipartisan bicameral coalition dedicated to passenger rail development. His leadership focuses on demonstrating how robust transit links generate measurable economic benefits for local communities, workforce development, and regional tourism.

Key priorities under Rep. Wilson's caucus leadership include:

• Supporting the Missouri River Runner: Advocating for strong state support, operational reliability, and service enhancements along the Missouri River Runner corridor connecting St. Louis and Kansas City.

• Advancing Corridor Extensions: Supporting feasibility studies and planning for proposed line extensions, including the Kansas City–to–St. Joseph passenger rail corridor with potential stops in communities like Parkville and Weston.

• Building Legislative Awareness: Coordinating legislative updates and educational train rides for newly elected lawmakers between Jefferson City and Kansas City to experience passenger rail firsthand.

• National Train Day & Missouri River Runner Day: Collaborating with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to plan a state-wide "Missouri River Runner Day" celebration on National Train Day (May 10th).

Economic Development Meets Transportation PolicyRep. Wilson’s commitment to passenger rail stems from his extensive experience in municipal economic development. Prior to joining the General Assembly in 2023, he served as an economic development specialist for the City of St. Charles and the City of Florissant. In 2019, he received the Missouri Economic Development Council’s (MEDC) Business Retention Award after conducting 4,000 business retention visits.

In the General Assembly, Rep. Wilson serves as Vice-Chair of the House Commerce Committee and holds seats on the Economic Development Committee, the Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, and the Special Committee on Tourism. These committee roles position him to align transportation initiatives directly with Missouri's broader goals of workforce mobility, business attraction, and tourism growth.
